About us

Born from the Madrid Open Data Reuse Awards 2025, Rampa is an accessibility-first routing engine, designed for pedestrians with reduced mobility, whose needs are currently ignored by existing navigation tools. Combining open data from OpenStreetMap and local administrations, we incorporate sidewalk widths, kerb locations, and elevation data into the search for the best path to navigate through the urban area.

Rampa implements state-of-the-art tools from the artificial intelligence and machine learning fields to extract and validate these urban attributes at city scale, integrating them afterwards into a routing engine that weights real accessibility — not just distance. Every query to our system returns two options: the most accessible route and the fastest one, so each person can decide according to their actual needs.
